Ok, so here the idea is to publish student thoughts, digital work, etc, in a LOCKED and CLOSED environment - a 'Moodle' web page that is shared amongst multiple schools. I set up this locked website to facilitate this idea, and called it "Beyond Borders". It was my first project, dating back to 2005 when I was teaching French full time and wanted them to have peers from other schools to talk to in French. Beyond Borders is what originally brought me enough recognition to try crazier stuff!
TO DO:
Go to http://beyondborders.edu.au and login with a login that Steve gives you. (Go get your login from him now)
Once in, explore the existing projects. Click "Collabor8 Projects" and then any project name. Some are ghost towns, some are thriving.
Now click on "Welcome to Beyond Borders" and then "Practice Course" and experiment adding a forum, wiki, or text chat system to the page. Play with these tools
Consider how you could use this space to link your students to a sister school (or several).
